What an amazing day the 10th December 2015 was…
We flew to New York from Manchester for a weeks holiday in the Big Apple and unknowingly to Jenn I packed the engagement ring in my camera bag hoping she would say yes.
When we arrived in New York it was around tea time and found our hotel after a strange and costly taxi ride from the airport and got ready for the evening. We headed out to downtown Manhattan which was quite away from where we were staying up towards the 142nd street on Broadway.
Mick and Gillian both knew what was coming and so we headed towards the Rockafeller Centre so we could see the big (and i mean mahoosive) tree while it was snowing or so thats what we told Jennifer.
When we got there I took a few pictures of Mick and Gillian and Jenn then asked Mick to take some on me and Jenn, now I had to get the ring out… Which wasn’t as easy as I thought as I packed it away too well so Jenn wouldn’t find it.
But Jenn was getting frustrated as she thought I was messing around with my camera and lenses but finally I got it out and put it in my pocket for the big moment. As we stood by the tree, I said to Jenn that “coming on holiday wasn’t the only reason I wanted to come here”. I then bent down on one knee, got the ring out and asked her to marry me…
After what seemed about 10 mins of Jenn saying “Are you serious?” she finally said yes and as they say the rest is history…
